Frequently Asked Questions

(for those in the back)

Is copywriting a good investment?

“Let’s eat Grandma” versus “Let’s eat, Grandma”.

Turns out, punctuation matters. As does spelling, grammar, readability, sentence structure, and brevity. Oh, and ensuring your brand’s tone of voice resonates with the people you’re actually trying to talk to. Not to mention, the leads generated from expertly optimised copy.

I think you have your answer. But, don’t fret. That’s why I’m here.

Do you charge per word?

No, I believe that quality content isn’t about word limits. It’s about creating bespoke messaging to suit your audience, which cuts through the noise and encourages action. I charge based on the time it takes for me to create just the right piece of content for you. Get in touch so I can provide you with a customised quote to suit your needs.

How long would it take to write [insert item]?

Just like you, your product offering or services are unique. And, so should be your content. As such, it’s difficult to estimate exactly how long a project will take. However, for example, a complex blog post or sales page could take between 7.5–12 hours each.

What about SEO?

I will always adopt SEO best practice when writing web copy, and happily incorporate some light keyword research into the task (where applicable). Typically, keyword research is supplied by you if you’re carrying out your own SEO strategy. If you don’t have an SEO strategy, I strongly recommend enlisting the services of a professional SEO consultant to provide specialist services (I can help connect you!).

What does the process entail?

Although I’ll treat your project with the unique care it deserves, my process remains streamlined and consistent. Take a read below:

  1. After making contact, you’ll provide me with a detailed overview of your project via email. Then, I can offer a tailored quote to suit your specific needs.

  2. Once we’ve agreed on the price, I’ll send you a signed contract and a road map that covers the entire project from concept to delivery (based on my availability and your requirements). Please note: I typically require a 20% deposit to secure your project in my calendar.

  3. On payment of the deposit, I’ll ask you to complete a briefing form and provide as much information as possible including references, wireframes, and keyword research (if applicable). If you’re in need of a digital designer to help bring your vision to life, let me know (I can help with that, too!).

  4. Next, I’ll start to craft your copy. Generally, you’ll be granted two rounds of edits, with any additional rounds charged at an extra fee. During this process, I request that you adhere to the road map to ensure a speedy delivery of your revisions!

  5. Once the final files are delivered, I’ll send you an invoice for the remaining 80% fee, which is due within 30 days of the invoice date.

Okay, okay. So what will my hard-earned cash actually get me?

Well, that all depends on the service you need. The most common request I receive is for website content, so here’s a breakdown of what that includes:

  • 1 x virtual discovery session (via phone or online)

  • Competitor and industry research

  • SEO-friendly website copy (number of pages vary per client)

  • Up to 400 words of copy per page

  • Meta title and description

  • Suggestions for design and user experience

  • 2 x rounds of revisions

  • Expert proofreading

What currencies do you work with?

I work predominantly for the Australian and U.K. markets and therefore have two different rates for each currency. I also have a TransferWise account, so payment is super quick and easy (and there are no fees!). The transaction would be like any normal bank transaction for you.

Is the rate inclusive of tax?

Yes, the figures are inclusive of all taxes.
